PLACEMENT

OBJECTIVES

• To guide the students to seek a suitable job
• To impart training / orientation to the students on entrepreneur skills
• To encourage our students for self-employment

Employment opportunities are available in India and Overseas are made known to the students. Campus Interviews are arranged and on request of various companies. It functions under two Placement Officers. The above Facilities are extended to the interested students who have enrolled in the Placement cell.

And most of the students of this institution have got placements . For the past three years from 2003 to 2006 , from the Dept of Computer Science 19 students have got placements , from the Dept of Commerce 35 have got placements, from the Dept of Mathematics 15 have got placements, from the Dept of English 10 have got placements.

ACTIVITIES

1. 20 Students of III MCA attended campus interview held at BSA Crescent Engineering College, Vandalur, Chennai on 6th & 7th July 2007.They attended aptitude test and technical interview in INFOSYS and WIPRO.
2. 6 students of of III MCA attended campus interview held at BSA Crescent Engineering College, Vandalur, Chennai on 23rd July 2007.They attended aptitude test in Mphasis and EDS Company.
3. Ms.Sundara Yoga Lakshmi, Program Leader, Infosys, Chennai gave a lecture on "How to prepare for an interview and shared her experience in working with it to the PG and final UG students of the Department of computer science on 17.08.2007.
4. A campus interview was conducted by the leading software company, INFOSYS at Vickram College of Engineering on 11.12.2007. Out of 69 students who were short listed for the IT sector final interview, 22 were from our college. In addition to this 3 students got selected for BPO. Finally out of 22 candidates 10 got selected for the job.
5. A One Day training programme for placement was arranged by our college on 15th Dec 2007.
6. Mr .S.S.Manian, Officer, HRD & Placement and Mr.G.Gokhul Kumar, Talent Development Officer from K.L.N College of Engineering, Madurai were the resource persons. They enlightened the students on how to face campus interviews conducted by leading software companies.
7. On 22.12.2007 TATA Consultancy from Chennai conducted Campus Interview for students from various colleges affiliated to Alagappa University, Karaikudi, at our college. 215 students attended the interview from 10 colleges. 28 students are shortlisted and they are called for an interview at Chennai. It is to be highlighted that among the 28 shortlisted candidates 12 from our college.
8. Ms Punitha, Head, Department of Mathematics and Ms Senthil Kumari, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science attended "NIIT Industry Alliances and Academia Meet 2008" on 05.01.2008 at hotel North Gate, Madurai.
9. A mock interview was conducted on 06.01.2008 for the students who have been selected for the personal interview by TCS, Cheannai. Mr.G.Gokhul Kumar, Talent Development Officer from K.L.N college of Engineering, Madurai and his team were the resource persons.
10. The interview was conducted by TCS on 28.01.2008 at their office, Vadapalani, Chennai. 13 students got placement out of which 7 students are from our college.

Placement Record

The placement record is poor due to the Global Economic Crisis and no company offered to visit the campus as the It industry is set back, Continuous efforts are taken to arrange campus interview & Data sheets were sent to 2 square, a software company at Chennai on 25th September 2009 for B Sc Information Technology students and on 01.10.2009 for MCA students. The other activities of the placement cell is furnished below:

   Informed to the students of Computer Science, Commerce and English about TKC investments requirements of candidate for Management Trainees.

   Informed to the students about the requirements of Project Associates for Tamil Nadu Vetnary Medical Science University, Tuticorin.

   A Circular was sent to the HODs of Science Departments about the campus recruitment for placement in Cognizant IT IS at Syed Hameeda arts and Science College, Kilakarai and asked them to identify the qualified students.

   Ms.  R Punitha and Ms.  S. Panbarasi Fathima met Mr.  Kathiravan, Centre head, HCL DCD, Madurai and discussed about the courses offered by HCL DCD, Madurai.

   Informed nearly 50 aluminae of Mathematics and computer science department about the campus interview at  Syed Hameedha arts and science college, Kilakarai through e-mail and phone call.
6. 02.09.10
   A circular was sent to the final year UG & P G students about the Training programme on “Placement preparation by “THE ELITISTS leadership development institute, Madurai to be arranged on 14th October.

   Ms.  Punitha & Ms.  Zulaiha met the Vice President Academic affairs for the Americal University if India and received invitation for free career guidance workshop at AUI/KSB Kodai for passed out/final year students of our college.
8. 24.09.10
   A circular was sent to the final year UG students about the Pool campus drive for TCS for science graduates (pass outs of 2011) on Oct 2nd & 3rd at Fatima College, Madurai.
9. 29.09.10
   Placement training program was arranged on 29.09.10 & 30.09.10 for the final year students those who enrolled their names for pool campus drive for TCS by  Ms.  T.  Thouhitha Begum, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, TBAK College, Kilakarai.

    33 of our students accompanied by Ms.  S.  Panbarasi Fathima and Ms.  K Bhuvaneswari participated in the Pool campus drive for TCS at Fatima college, Madurai.  700 students attended the online test, only 10 students were selected. Our III B Sc IT(II shift)student Ms.  Deepika is one among them.  She got placement order from TCS.

    A circular was sent to the final year B Sc(Computer /IT) students about the Pool campus drive for Cognizant IT services on  October 23rd at Fatima college, Madurai.

    14 or our students accompanied by Ms.  Zulaiha and Ms.  Bhuvaneswari attended the on-line test arranged by Cognizant  IT services for Pool campus drive on 23.10.10 and only 6 of our students were selected for the final interview.

    Placement training program was arranged on 26.10.10 for the final year students those who are selected for the final interview for Cognizant IT services for Pool campus drive by Ms.  T Thouhitha Begum, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, TBAK college , Kilakarai.

    6 of our students accompanied by Ms.  Punitha attended the final interview arranged by Cognizant IT services for Pool campus drive on 27.10.10 and our III B Sc IT(II shift)student Ms.  Jeba Begum was selected.

    Placement training program was arrange on 18.11.11 for the final year students by Mr.  R. Dhana sekaran, Placement offier, Fatima College, Madurai

    A requisition letter was submitted to the collector Mr.  Hariharan for the arrangement of Kalaiznar  Velai Vaippy Mugam at our campus.

    A circular was sent to the final year UG students about the campus interview for WIPRO for Maths IT graduates(pass outs of 2011) on Mar 3rd at Alagappa University.

    Placement training program was arranged on 02.03.22 for the final year students those who enrolled their names for pool campus drive for WIPRO by  Ms.  T.  Thouhitha Begum, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, TBAK College, Kilakarai

    20 of our students accompanied by Ms.  R.  Punitha attended the campus interview for WIPRO at Alagappa University, Karaikudi. 431 students attended the online test, only 37 students were selected for the final interview.  Out of these 37 students only 7 students are selected.  Our III B Sc IT (II shift) student  Ms.  M.  Shanana Fathima is one among them.
